This fresh homemade, aromatic powder is used in the preparation of popular and delicious South Indian dish Sambhar. We have made this with love from a South Indian family friend's heirloom recipe. A wide variety of spice and herbs are sum-dried, individually roasted, hand ground and stored in an airtight container to be used for a longer period of time.
You can use the same masala in various other dishes to up the tangy taste and give a twist to many different recipes. Quintessentially this is paired with Idli, Dosa, Plain rice or even flavoured rice.
